Dallas Cowboys Rumors: October 2017

If you’re a football fan, you’ve probably heard all about the Cowboys rumors involving Ezekiel Elliott. However, if you’re a Cowboys fan, you probably know there are a lot of other rumors circulating out there around the ‘boys. Luckily, a lot of the latest rumors would be good news! Now, let’s start answering some of the biggest questions.

Is free agent NaVorro Bowman considering the Cowboys?

Former San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman has his eyes set on a few strong teams, one of them including the Dallas Cowboys. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Bowman visited the Oakland Raiders, but he has also scheduled a visit with the Cowboys.

Bowman has played with the 49ers for seven years. That has been his only home team for the entirety of his NFL career. Bowman is just 29-years-old, but he has already accomplished so much in his career as a three-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro member.

Dallas struggles on defense, and that’s what hurt them last season. Bowman could be what the Cowboys need for a successful season. His veteran leadership and quick feet may be able to help the ‘boys get to Super Bowl this year.

Is Tony Romo going to make a comeback out of retirement?

Last year was Tony Romo’s last year with the Cowboys. Quarterback Dak Prescott practically forced him into retirement – just kidding! However, it wasn’t until Romo realized Prescott was exactly what the Cowboys needed that he decided to retire. Romo left with class but didn’t go too far away.
Now, Romo has found a new career in sports broadcasting. Boy, did he get promoted fast - he is now the lead NFL analyst for CBS. However, before he decided to go the broadcasting route, he was considering playing for a new team, possibly the Houston Texans. He decided CBS was too good of an offer to pass up.

This rumor all started when Troy Aikman was broadcasting and suggested the Packers might be able to lure Tony Romo out of retirement. After all, Romo is from Wisconsin and even grew up a Packers fan. Even ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL’s Kay Adams started adding to the discussion.
Romo told the NFL, “Oh yeah, probably a good chance [of returning to the NFL]. We’ll see how it plays out. I think you’ll find — I’m joking. Like I said before, I’m done…” Romo has made it known that he’s not planning on returning to the game anytime soon, so we can put the rumors to rest.

Will Dallas be home to the 2018 NFL Draft?

The 2017 NFL Draft was held in Philadelphia, but unfortunately, the city didn’t do enough to hold their spot. It has been confirmed that the 2018 Draft will be held in Arlington, Texas, at the AT&T Stadium, home to the Dallas Cowboys. The draft will begin on April 26, and it will take place at the field, stands, and outdoor plazas.

Is Ezekiel Elliott going to reach a settlement with the NFL?

Pretty much everyone in America has heard about the Ezekiel Elliott scandal by now. Elliott’s ex-girlfriend accused him of physically abusing her on multiple occasions. Elliott has never been charged with a crime because the information has been inconsistent and unclear. This legal battle has been going on for months, and they can’t seem to reach a decision. With a case like this, it can be hard to find a middle ground. So, could a settlement be in the works?

Despite what the rumors say, sources close to Ezekiel Elliott and NFLPA claim no interest or knowledge of settlement talks. Elliott has made it known that he’s not fighting this because of the game suspensions; he is fighting this because he wants to clear his name from any allegations.

Dallas Morning News’ David Moore reported that close sources believed the two sides discussed a possible settlement. Moore said it would likely involve a reduced suspension, and both parties would be able to claim some responsibility without losing credibility. However, Elliott made it clear he is not interested in any resolution until the case is overturned.

Dallas Cowboys 2016-17 Season Review

If you are a football enthusiast, I bet you want to see some real American football game. Buy Dallas Cowboys tickets to watch one of the most exciting games of the year. Hold on, before you get that amazing and budget friendly Dallas Cowboys Tickets online and enjoy your favorite game and also watch your favorite team play, it would be interesting to learn how the Dallas Cowboys do in 2016-17 seasons.

The Dallas Cowboys are America’s popular football team known for their capacity and continued to play a great game.  Records have been made & broken; the rules have been changed, dynasties have flourished; individual players have emerged themselves and the whole new pieces of incredible sports champions are rolled out.

For some reason, the last season was the time to restore, in which only a part of it can be called as an appreciable change took place that impacted a team’s fortune or affected their long term prospects. Establishing a quality association in the NLF is an enduring process and for some popular NFL team like the Dallas Cowboys, 2016-17 was just an additional brick in their wall-of-fame.

Over the years, the NFL seasons have given breakout performances, in which many teams have successfully managed to attain their goals and make a remarkable improvement from their previous performances.  The Dallas Cowboys were probably one of the best teams in the league last season.

Moreover, the most exciting part about a Dallas Cowboys breakdown year is not the fact that it happened, but the team had been poised on the cusp of greatness for years.

As always, it’s going to be fun watching the Dallas Cowboys running backs explode out of the backfield. The Cowboys have a profound set of running backs this season with rookie Ezekiel Elliott. Of course, the Cowboys’ ground attack will include the team’s sturdy offensive line,
Regarded by many as the best in the NFL in run blocking.

Last season, the Cowboys ranked 9th in the league; in rushing yards per game with 118.1.  Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick , and Zack Martin give Tony Romo and the backfield three offensive line pieces that might be on their way to All-Pro selections at season’s end. Considering the number of youths on the Cowboys roster, there’s a good bet that the team is not going anywhere, that they should be serious contenders for the next few years.

Well, the Dallas Cowboys 2016, wasn’t ending the way we wanted we were hoping for. In fact, it was one of the most heartbreaking ends of the season. It wasn’t a terrible game by the Cowboys, but due to some silly penalties and a few calls that didn’t go their way, I thought they played well.

After years of mediocrity while the Cowboys rebuild around head coach, the Dallas Cowboys headed into the 2016-17 season. This will finally be the year when franchise quarterback Tony Romo would stay healthy throughout the season and live up to his potential and lead the team to a championship.

Top 10 Most Talked About NFL Team Facebook Pages

With the NFL season halfway through, it’s definitely one of the hottest topics of conversation (and debate) in person and especially on platforms like Facebook. Fans everywhere head straight to Facebook to glory in their favourite team’s win, vent their frustration over losses, and express their opinions (good and bad) of anything and everything that happens in their team. And is there a better place to meet likeminded people for these discussions than on that team’s Facebook page?

Whether their teams have played, or a game is coming up, Facebook is busy with conversations surrounding all 32 teams. So, at this stage of the season, which are the teams that are seeing the most chatter right now? And what are people talking about?

New England Patriots - 527,422 Talking about Them

As Super Bowl favourites, the Patriots are currently the most talked about team on Facebook. Between their game performances (overall and against the Bills), keeping up with Quarterback Tom Brady, and the impending return of running back Dion Lewis, fans have a lot to say to each other and the team itself!

Denver Broncos - 338,628 Talking about Them

For a team that ranks fifth in Facebook likes, the Broncos are a very talked about team! But with developments like injured players just before the Chargers game, running back C.J. Anderson possibly going into injured reserve for the season, and their win-loss ratio, commentary (positive and negative) is flying fast and furious!

Oakland Raiders - 306,201 Talking about Them

Unexpectedly emerging as one of the teams to watch this NFL season, the Oakland Raiders are seeing good movement on the field and on social media; they’re the third most talked about team on Facebook! With their current tie to lead the AFC West, fans will definitely be speculating on how far the team can go and whether they have a shot at the Super Bowl. The coming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will also be seeing a lot of commentary!

Seattle Seahawks - 290,775 Talking about Them

The Seahawks are a socially active team that know how to keep their fans engaged. And when you throw in news of players coming in and out of games, injury and pregnancy announcements by Quarterback Russell Wilson (this is his first time being anything other than a full participant in practice), the fans have so much to discuss. Then there’s Richard Sherman’s Harry Potter costume to dissect!

Green Bay Packers - 287,181 Talking about Them

What are the 2.8 million Packers fans chatting about? The team’s first away game in six weeks (playing against the Falcons in Atlanta), linebacker Clay Matthews’ injury, Jared Abbrederis no longer being a part of the team, and CB Baxter being released from the practice squad are just some of the topics that have seen the comments, commiseration and encouragement come in, making the Packers the fifth most talked about team on Facebook.

Dallas Cowboys - 265,109 Talking about Them

“America’s Team”, while by far the most popular on Facebook is not in the top five in terms of conversation at the moment. However, with word of the injured Tony Romo participating in practices once again, fans are undoubtedly speculating on whether he will replace Dak Prescott as the starting quarterback, and what kind of an impact this might have on the coming games. Not to mention the analysis of the team’s overall performance, and the coming game with the Philadelphia Eagles! We may see an upswing in conversation in the next few days.

Miami Dolphins - 240,545 Talking about Them

Another team that doesn’t rank among the favourites on Twitter and Facebook, the Miami Dolphins are nevertheless popular in conversation at the moment, coming in at number seven with 2.4 million people talking about them. And what might they be talking about? Jay Ajayi’s rising popularity, and his performance as a replacement for the retired running back Arian Foster are definitely contributors to the many conversations!

Pittsburgh Steelers - 233,629 Talking about Them

Coming in eighth in conversation popularity, the 2.3 million people talking about the Steelers have a lot to choose from when it comes to talking points - the merits of James Harrison over Jarvis Jones as starting right outside linebacker, whether the Steelers gave up against the Patriots after coming so close, and the new biography on coach Chuck Noll being high among them.

San Diego Chargers - 171,842 Talking about Them

In second to last place on this last are the San Diego Chargers, another team that ranks in conversation popularity over number of page likes. Leading the discussions will be speculations over the coming game with the Broncos and whether there’s been enough time for the coaches to develop new strategies, whether the Chargers will be able to get their third win in a row, and how Philon will perform in this game.

New York Giants - 159,581Talking about Them

On a positive front and a negative one, there are two topics that are under major debate concerning the New York Giants, who feature in the number 10 spot on this list. The positive topic is the unbelievable turnaround in the team’s defensive capabilities, which have done wonders for their performance in the first half of the NFL season. The other, less pleasant subject is the announcement that placekicker Josh Brown has been released for violating the League’s “Personal Conduct Policy,” after considerable publicity over domestic violence claims.

What’s on Your Mind, NFL Fan?

Of course, these are only a handful of subjects that the many millions of NFL fans are discussing. But as long as they have something to say, Facebook is where they’re going to say it. So, what are the discussions you’re looking to be a part of when you get onto your favourite team’s Facebook page? Do you think these conversations are better had on Facebook or on some other platform? Comment and tell us what brings you into a fan conversation / debate!

Top 10 Most Followed NFL Twitter Accounts

Social media has changed the way fans enjoy the NFL; it isn’t just about cheering it out at the stadium or screaming at a TV screen with your friends at home or at a bar anymore (which isn’t to say that we don’t do it anymore!). The introduction of Facebook and Twitter especially has taken us to the next level of interaction and fan experience, where we can now personally reach out to and interact with the “gods of the football field.”

As social platforms go, Twitter is unbeatable when it comes to immediate news, responses, and reactions, especially with the way the current NFL season is heating up. With no limit on frequency and reach, there is no better way for fans and teams to connect. Where do you turn for immediate news? There was a great touchdown five seconds ago? It’s gonna be on Twitter to be commented and shared in under a minute!

Breaking news is what you find on Twitter, which is why the whole world is on it!

Dallas Cowboys - 2,028,610

With practice pics and reports, videos, minute-to-minute updates, and teasers about upcoming games, their Twitterverse is a busy place. With an average retweet of 479.4, the Cowboys have a very engaged audience!

Denver Broncos - 1,922,624

With updates, memes, GIFS, and a whole lot more, Panthers fans have about 50,000 reasons (50,139 tweets and counting) to keep up with their twitter feed.

Pittsburgh Steelers - 1,492,192

Hailing from one of the smallest cities to have an NFL team, the Pittsburgh Steelers have a Twitter following of 1.49 million, a truly impressive figure that clearly extends far beyond geographic limits! Considered one of the most successful NFL franchises, they do their part in giving the fans things to talk about.

Seattle Seahawks - 1,483,398

With a more than 80% increase in followers in the space of about 20 months, the Seattle Seahawks are seeing a meteoric rise in popularity on Twitter. They clock in at number six, with 1.48 million followers. Between their prowess on the field, their players’ popularity, and the “plugged-in” nature of the city, where else will Hawks fans be but Twitter?

Green Bay Packers - 1,411,992

They may be in seventh place with 1.41 million followers, but the Green Bay Packers have a well-earned reputation for fan engagement. Covering the board with news, game highlights, unique hashtags and giveaways, this 13-time World Champion team know how to make their fans feel welcome and wanting more contact with the team!

Philadelphia Eagles - 1,333,961

The Philadelphia Eagles come in second to last on this list with 1.33 million followers on Twitter. However, despite their somewhat late arrival on Twitter (2010 vs. other teams coming in at 2009) and not ranking among the best teams in the NFL, their evident popularity makes it clear that they’re doing things right here!

Chicago Bears - 1,212,937

With 1.21 million followers, the Chicago Bears round out the list of popular NFL teams on Twitter. Keeping their fan base up to date with things like practice squad moves, roster changes, behind-the-scenes videos, live videos, and entertaining them with caption contests and whatnot, Bears fans have a lot to look forward to on this page.

What Happens by the End of the Season?

This is how the teams rank for popularity on Twitter right now; but there’s noted correlation between winning and growing popularity on social media. So, as the NFL season progresses, what do you think is going to happen? Do you think there will be substantial change in the top 10 list by the time the season ends?
